FSQA Supervisor - BB Nash Nashville
BB Nash Nashville seeks a hands-on FSQA Supervisor to lead food safety, quality, and QA teams while supporting production and strengthening standards across a growing facility.
BB Nash in Nashville, Tennessee facility, we produce protein bars for the US market, supporting continued nationwide growth through a strong focus on quality, efficiency, and operational excellence.

The FSQA Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and execution of food safety and quality activities on the production floor. This is a highly visible, hands-on role responsible for leading and developing the QA team, supporting production in real time, ensuring compliance with established food safety and quality programs, and driving accountability for GMP and quality standards across the facility.
The FSQA Supervisor is expected to maintain a strong presence on the production floor, partnering closely with Production, Sanitation, Maintenance, Warehouse, and other departments to identify and resolve food safety and quality issues as they occur.
About the role:
This role works closely with the Director of FSQA and FSQA Systems & Compliance Analyst to ensure established food safety and quality programs are consistently and effectively executed across all shifts.
Key responsibilities:
Floor Leadership & Production Support
Maintain a strong and consistent presence on the production floor.
Provide real-time food safety and quality support to Production and other operational teams.
Monitor production activities for compliance with established food safety, quality, GMP, and sanitation requirements.
Identify food safety and quality concerns and ensure appropriate immediate action is taken.
Partner with Production leadership to resolve quality issues while maintaining food safety and product integrity.
Support production start-ups, changeovers, line inspections, and other critical production activities.
Escalate significant food safety, quality, or regulatory concerns to the Director of FSQA.
QA Team Leadership
Provide day-to-day leadership, direction, and support to QA technicians and other assigned FSQA personnel.
Coordinate daily QA assignments and ensure appropriate floor coverage across production activities.
Coach and develop QA team members to strengthen technical knowledge, decision-making, and accountability.
Establish clear performance expectations and provide timely feedback.
Assist with onboarding and training new QA employees.
Support performance management and development activities in partnership with the Director of FSQA.
Promote a culture of food safety ownership, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
GMP & Food Safety Compliance
Monitor and enforce compliance with GMPs, food safety procedures, allergen controls, sanitation requirements, and established quality standards.
Conduct routine floor inspections and observations.
Identify deficiencies and work with responsible departments to ensure timely correction.
Verify that established food safety and quality procedures are being followed consistently.
Reinforce food safety and quality expectations with employees and leaders throughout the facility.
Support food safety and GMP training as needed.
Quality & Product Support
Support raw material, in-process, and finished product quality activities.
Ensure required inspections, checks, sampling, and testing are completed accurately and on time.
Support product hold activities, investigations, and disposition processes.
Assist with evaluation of non-conforming product and process deviations.
Partner with operations to address recurring quality concerns and improve process execution.
Ensure QA technicians appropriately document quality and food safety activities.
Investigations & Corrective Actions
Lead or support investigations related to food safety, product quality, GMP, and process deviations.
Participate in root cause analysis and identification of corrective and preventive actions.
Work with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions on the production floor.
Verify that corrective actions are effectively implemented and sustained.
Escalate recurring or significant trends to FSQA leadership.
Sanitation & Environmental Support
Partner with Sanitation and Operations to identify and address sanitation or hygienic concerns observed on the production floor.
Support pre-operational inspections and sanitation verification activities.
Assist with environmental monitoring activities as directed.
Ensure environmental or sanitation findings requiring operational action are communicated and addressed.
Support corrective actions resulting from sanitation or environmental findings.
Documentation & Program Execution
Ensure QA personnel accurately and consistently complete required food safety and quality records.
Review floor-level QA documentation for completeness and accuracy.
Ensure established FSQA programs, procedures, and work instructions are being properly executed by the QA team.
Identify gaps in program execution and communicate them to the Director of FSQA and FSQA Systems & Compliance Analyst.
Support implementation of new or revised FSQA procedures and programs on the production floor.
Audit & Inspection Support
Support internal, customer, regulatory, and third-party audits.
Ensure the production floor and QA team remain audit-ready.
Assist with gathering records and providing operational information during audits and inspections.
Support corrective actions resulting from audit observations or findings.
Reinforce audit readiness as part of normal daily operations rather than an audit-specific activity.
Cross-Functional Partnership
Build strong working relationships with Production, Sanitation, Maintenance, Warehouse, and other plant functions.
Serve as a day-to-day FSQA resource for operational leaders and employees.
Participate in daily production and operational meetings as appropriate.
Communicate food safety and quality concerns clearly and promptly.
Balance production needs with food safety and quality requirements without compromising established standards.
What we are looking for:
Required
Experience in food manufacturing quality assurance, food safety, or a related manufacturing environment.
Previous leadership, supervisory, or demonstrated team-lead experience.
Working knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, food safety principles, sanitation, allergen controls, and quality systems.
Experience supporting production operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Ability and willingness to spend significant time on the production floor.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Ability to coach employees and hold teams accountable to established standards.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work cross-functionally with both hourly employees and plant leadership.
Preferred
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, Quality, or a related field.
Experience in SQF, BRC, or another GFSI-certified food manufacturing environment.
HACCP certification.
PCQI certification.
Previous experience supervising QA technicians in food manufacturing.
