Quality Technician
Shift: This position will initially train on 1st shift and will transition to 2nd shift after training. Candidates must be available and willing to work both shifts as required during the training and transition period.
Role Summary
The Quality Technician helps ensure products and processes meet food safety and quality standards. This hands-on role works closely with production and leadership to perform quality checks, monitor food safety requirements, and promptly escalate concerns when standards are not met.
We are looking for an experienced, proactive, and flexible team member who is confident speaking up and taking action. As BB Nash grows, this role will help strengthen our FSQA culture and promote shared ownership of food safety and quality across the plant.

Core Responsibilities
Quality & Food Safety: Ensure products and processes meet standards.
Perform in-process and finished product quality checks
Inspect product, packaging, labels, and lot codes
Monitor GMP, HACCP, allergen, and food safety requirements
Verify required food safety and Critical Control Point (CCP) checks
Immediately communicate and escalate quality, food safety, or process concerns
Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate and audit-ready records.
Complete quality logs and required documentation accurately
Maintain product and ingredient traceability
Document product holds, deviations, and corrective actions
Support audits, investigations, and root cause activities
FSQA Culture & Partnership: Promote food safety and quality across the plant.
Maintain an active and visible presence on the production floor
Reinforce food safety and quality expectations
Work closely with production and leadership to address quality concerns
Provide real-time feedback and escalate concerns when standards are not met
Promote shared ownership of food safety and quality across teams
Help strengthen FSQA practices as the company grows
Continuous Improvement: Help strengthen our FSQA program.
Proactively identify and communicate opportunities for improvement
Participate in training and skill development
Support FSQA and operational improvement initiatives
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
2+ years of quality experience in food or beverage manufacturing required
Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and food safety practices
Experience performing quality checks and completing documentation
Ability to read and understand work instructions, food safety procedures, product specifications, and quality documentation
Ability to clearly communicate and escalate quality, food safety, and operational concerns
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Basic computer skills
Flexibility to support different areas, schedules, and operational needs

Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to bend, reach, and perform routine inspection activities
Ability to work in varying temperatures and food manufacturing conditions
Work Environment
Food manufacturing and warehouse environment with strict GMP and food safety standards
PPE required in production areas
Exposure to production equipment, forklifts, noise, and varying temperatures
Movement between production and warehouse areas as needed
Restrictions on jewelry, artificial nails, and similar items in production areas
Smoke-free campus; no smoking permitted on company property
