Role Summary
The Warehouse Lead is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient material flow, inventory accuracy, and compliance with food safety standards. You will lead day-to-day activities across shipping, receiving, and inventory while supporting production needs.
This role reports directly to the Warehouse Manager and is ideal for someone who is hands-on, organized, and experienced in warehouse operations within a manufacturing environment.
Core Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Coordination: Lead and support warehouse operations.
Lead, train, and support warehouse associates in daily tasks and priorities
Assign work, monitor performance, and ensure productivity standards are met
Provide guidance on safety, GMP, and proper material handling procedures
Support onboarding and training of new team members
Lead safety initiatives, conduct safety observations, and promote a culture of continuous safety improvement
Inventory & Material Flow: Maintain accuracy and efficiency.
Oversee receiving, storage, and movement of raw materials and finished goods
Ensure accurate inventory tracking, lot traceability, and timely reporting of discrepancies
Maintain proper stock rotation using FIFO principles
Coordinate material availability to support production schedules
Shipping & Receiving Oversight: Ensure smooth logistics operations.
Oversee loading and unloading of shipments
Verify documentation and maintain shipping/receiving records
Coordinate outbound shipments and staging of finished goods
Warehouse Operations & Compliance: Maintain a safe and audit-ready environment.
Enforce GMP, HACCP, sanitation, and safety standards
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse
Monitor equipment usage (forklifts, pallet jacks) and report maintenance needs
Performance, Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement: Drive operational excellence.
Monitor and drive key performance indicators (KPIs) such as inventory accuracy, order fulfillment, and productivity
Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, shipping errors, and operational issues in a timely manner
Identify opportunities to improve workflow, organization, and efficiency
Support inventory audits and cycle counts
Communicate issues, delays, or risks to the Warehouse Manager
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Align with plant operations.
Collaborate with production, quality, and procurement teams to ensure alignment of material availability and operational priorities
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training preferred
2+ years of warehouse experience, preferably in food manufacturing
1+ year of leadership or team lead experience preferred
Forklift experience required; certification preferred
Strong understanding of inventory processes and warehouse operations
Ability to follow GMP, HACCP, and food safety requirements

Work Environment
Food manufacturing and warehouse environment with strict adherence to GMP and food safety standards
PPE required when entering production areas (hair nets, beard nets if applicable, gloves, etc.)
Exposure to production equipment, forklifts, and noise
Work may involve varying temperatures, including temperature-controlled or cold storage areas
Movement between office, production, and warehouse areas as needed
Adherence to food safety policies, including restrictions on jewelry, artificial nails, and similar items in production areas
Smoke-free campus; no smoking permitted on company property
