Role Summary
The Industrial Electrician ensures our production equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably. This role is responsible for troubleshooting electrical and control systems, performing preventive maintenance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the plant.
In our growing food manufacturing environment, you will play a critical role in maintaining automated production lines, improving equipment uptime, and supporting a strong culture of safety and compliance. This position is ideal for someone who is hands-on, technically strong, and comfortable working closely with Maintenance and Production teams in a regulated environment.
Core Responsibilities
Electrical Systems & Troubleshooting Expert: Maintain safe and reliable plant operations.
Diagnose and repair electrical systems including motors, drives, control panels, and power distribution (480V, 3-phase)
Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and automated production lines
Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
Respond to equipment breakdowns and restore operations quickly and safely
Support installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment
Preventive Maintenance Owner: Reduce downtime through proactive planning.
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on electrical and control systems
Inspect and maintain VFDs, sensors, conveyors, packaging equipment, and instrumentation
Identify potential equipment risks and recommend corrective actions
Complete and document all maintenance tasks accurately within tracking systems
Automation & Controls Partner: Support performance and continuous improvement.
Assist with PLC troubleshooting and minor programming adjustments (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar)
Collaborate with Engineering and Production to improve equipment reliability and efficiency
Participate in root cause analysis for recurring electrical failures
Support equipment upgrades, installations, and process improvements
Safety & Compliance Champion: Protect people, equipment, and product integrity.
Follow OSHA, NFPA 70E, and plant safety standards at all times
Execute and support Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures
Maintain compliance with GMP, HACCP, and food safety requirements
Work safely in washdown and sanitary production environments
Qualifications
Licensed or Journeyman Electrician certification
3+ years of industrial electrical experience
Strong knowledge of 480V, 3-phase systems and industrial power distribution
Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled production equipment
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
Understanding of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures
Preferred
Experience in food or beverage manufacturing
Familiarity with washdown environments and sanitary design standards
Experience with Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLC systems
NFPA 70E / Arc Flash training
Experience supporting multi-shift manufacturing operations
