Facility Technician
BB Nash Nashville seeks a Facility Technician to maintain and troubleshoot water heaters, refrigeration, HVAC, and utilities — keeping 24/7 production safe, compliant, and reliable.

Position Summary
The Facility Technician is responsible for maintaining, operating, and troubleshooting all utility systems that support production within our food manufacturing facility. This role ensures that critical infrastructure — including water heaters, refrigeration systems, compressed air systems, HVAC equipment, and water treatment processes — operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory standards.
This position plays a vital role in supporting continuous manufacturing operations, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring overall facility reliability. Success in this role requires strong technical troubleshooting skills, attention to safety and compliance, and the ability to respond effectively in a 24/7 production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Safety Champion: Protect people, equipment, and compliance through disciplined safety practices.
Follow all facility safety policies, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space procedures, and chemical handling protocols.
Ensure maintenance activities are executed safely and in alignment with plant and regulatory standards.
Promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability within the facility.
Vendor & Contractor Coordinator: Ensure external partners support reliable and compliant utility operations.
Manage external contractors and technical service providers to maintain and service utility equipment.
Coordinate service schedules, monitor performance, and ensure work meets plant standards.
Maintain documentation for inspections, certifications, and contractor compliance.
Capital & Infrastructure Contributor: Support long-term reliability and strategic investment planning.
Provide input into the facility’s capital program and long-term investment strategy for utility systems.
Assist in evaluating equipment performance and identifying upgrade or replacement opportunities.
Support commissioning, qualification, and optimization of new or upgraded utility infrastructure.
Working Conditions
Exposure to hot, cold, humid, and refrigerated production environments.
Regular walking, climbing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Work in proximity to high-pressure systems, chemicals, and industrial equipment.
Shift work, on-call duty, and overtime may be required to support 24/7 operations.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
At least 2+ years of experience in utility or maintenance roles within a food, beverage, or industrial manufacturing environment.
Working knowledge of industrial water heaters, refrigeration systems (including glycol), HVAC, compressed air systems, and water treatment.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, schematics, and equipment manuals.
Proficiency with tools, diagnostic equipment, and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Preferred Qualifications
EPA 608 Refrigeration Certification.
Wastewater treatment certification (as required by facility).
Training in industrial safety programs including LOTO, confined space, and fall protection.
