Role Summary
The Warehouse Manager will lead and optimize all warehouse operations within our Nashville manufacturing facility, overseeing inbound raw materials, finished goods storage, inventory accuracy, and outbound shipments.
This role is responsible for building and leading a multi-shift warehouse team, including shift leads and operators, ensuring safe, efficient, and accurate material flow that supports production and customer fulfillment. In a startup manufacturing environment, the Warehouse Manager will not only manage daily execution but also establish scalable systems, processes, KPIs, and team structures to support rapid growth.
Success in this role requires both operational leadership and strategic thinking — someone who can drive day-to-day performance while building the foundation for long-term expansion.
Core Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations Leader: Drive safe, efficient, and high-performing warehouse execution across all shifts.
Lead day-to-day warehouse operations across multiple shifts, ensuring strong production and shipping support.
Supervise and develop shift leads and warehouse operators, establishing clear performance expectations and accountability standards.
Ensure safe material handling, storage, staging, and efficient workflow execution.
Drive on-time shipping performance and operational reliability.
Inbound & Production Support Owner: Ensure timely material flow to support manufacturing operations.
Oversee receipt, inspection, and put-away of raw materials and packaging.
Ensure timely staging of materials aligned with production schedules.
Partner with Production, Supply Planning, and QA to prioritize critical materials.
Maintain proper lot control, FIFO, and traceability standards.
Finished Goods & Outbound Manager: Protect service performance and shipment accuracy.
Manage finished goods storage, order picking, and outbound coordination.
Ensure accurate loading, shipping documentation, and ERP/WMS inventory transactions.
Monitor OTIF performance and proactively address service gaps.
Coordinate shipments to distribution centers and customers.
Inventory & Controls Owner: Maintain high inventory accuracy and disciplined warehouse systems.
Own cycle count programs and annual physical inventory processes.
Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
Maintain strong inventory accuracy within ERP/WMS systems.
Implement controls to minimize shrink, damage, and loss.
Safety & Compliance Champion: Promote disciplined, audit-ready warehouse standards.
Foster a strong safety culture across all shifts in compliance with OSHA and internal protocols.
Maintain warehouse organization, cleanliness, and 5S standards.
Support food safety, allergen control, and traceability requirements.
Process & Continuous Improvement Driver: Build scalable warehouse systems to support growth.
Develop and standardize warehouse SOPs, workflows, and shift structures.
Improve layout, material flow, and labor efficiency.
Implement and monitor KPIs for productivity, safety, and inventory accuracy.
Scale warehouse systems to support increasing production volume.
Team Builder & Culture Leader: Develop high-performing warehouse teams.
Hire, train, and develop warehouse leads and operators.
Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence.
Manage multi-shift scheduling and workforce planning.
Conduct performance reviews and support employee development and career progression.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
5+ years of warehouse or distribution leadership experience.
Experience managing multi-shift teams in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of inventory control and warehouse best practices.
Experience working with ERP or WMS systems.
Proven leadership and team development skills.
Preferred
Experience in food or CPG manufacturing.
Startup, brownfield, or rapid-growth facility experience.
Lean or continuous improvement training.
Forklift certification experience (or ability to oversee certified operators).
